QueenslanddzԹs gas exploration potential

The recent release of petroleum and gas exploration acreage by the Queensland government could have considerable long-term economic benefits. According to the APPEA, this could boost the statedzԹs reputation as an investment destination.

The government has announced the release of 16 400 km2 of land in QueenslanddzԹs north-west and south-west through a non-competitive tender process.

APPEA Chief Operating Officer Eastern Australia, Paul Fennelly, commented: dzԹThe Queensland Government continues to establish plans that will allow the next generation of the statedzԹs resources to be developed.

dzԹIt clearly recognises that petroleum and gas production is underpinned by exploration that can potentially attract further investment, generate prosperity and create jobs.
