Joining the project
If Iran joins the pipeline project, there will be no concern over the provision of required volumes to Europe.
This was allegedly agreed during a meeting between the Azeri delegation and Iranian oil officials. The agreement was that Iran could export its natural gas easier through Azerbaijan, instead of transporting it to Europe itself.聽
The aim is to eventually connect to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), following the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP).
The European Investment Bank is in discussion with Board of Directors of the bank regarding the possibility of lending 鈧�2 billion to the TAP pipeline project.
