Happy New Year! All of us here at Hydrocarbon Engineering hope you enjoyed the festive season. 2011 was a turbulent year, but Iº£½Ç³Ô¹ÏÍø™m glad to say that COP17, which was held in Durban, South Africa from 29th November º£½Ç³Ô¹ÏÍø“ 9th December, ended the year on a more positive note for those fighting for a greener and cleaner future, as there were unexpected and surprising conclusions. It can be said that talks didnº£½Ç³Ô¹ÏÍø™t start off on the best foot as Ban Ki-Moon, UN General Secretary, said º£½Ç³Ô¹ÏÍø˜we must be realistic about expectations for a breakthroughº£½Ç³Ô¹ÏÍø™ and warned that in these troubling economic times, a successful global climate treaty could be º£½Ç³Ô¹ÏÍø˜beyond our reachº£½Ç³Ô¹ÏÍø™.
