World dzԹ,

Baker Hughes Incorporated has announced that it has achieved the highest rating for any public company in the energy sector in NewsweekdzԹs 2014 Green Rankings, placing number 11 among the 500 largest US companies and number 20 among the 500 largest global companies.

NewsweekdzԹs Green Rankings rates companies on a variety of corporate sustainability and environmental impact factors such as energy, carbon, water and waste, company reputation, and board-level oversight. Baker Hughes achieved the high rankings because of the environmental initiatives implemented across the company.

dzԹWe are honoured once again to be recognised by NewsweekdzԹ said Dina Kuykendall, Director, Environmental Affairs. dzԹEnvironmental stewardship and social responsibility are a part of our culture, and we are committed to the ongoing expansion of environmental and sustainable practices across our operations, from our facilities to our field activities, and during the development of new products and services.dzԹ

Baker Hughes has commercialised technologies in hydraulic fracturing operations that enable operators to replace diesel fuel with cleaner-burning natural gas, reuse produced water instead of fresh water, and use environmentally responsible chemical products. In addition, the company has adopted sustainable building standards for its new and renovated facilities, and it consistently strives to reduce its overall environmental footprint through energy efficiency, water conservation, and recycling efforts.
