CRC-EvansdzԹ apprentice wins British Safety Council award

World dzԹ,

Gordon Hooker, a welding apprentice for CRC-Evans dzԹ International, Inc. (CRC-Evans) dzԹ an international leader in pipeline construction technologies and product development dzԹ was recently awarded the Young Health and Safety Champion Award from the British Safety Council in recognition of his commitment to helping ensure the health and safety of his colleagues and others at work.

In its third year, the Young Health and Safety Champion Award recognises young employees of organisations operating across a broad range of industry sectors throughout the world for their respective contributions to their organisationdzԹs health and safety management standards. Organisations that have been awarded an International Safety Award the previous calendar year for their excellence and high standards of health and safety management can nominate young employees for the award. The nomineedzԹs job role must not be related to health or safety, and their contribution to their organisationdzԹs health and safety practices must exceed their job responsibilities.

This yeardzԹs winner was selected by an independent panel of judges, chaired by Graham Cohen, a Trustee of the British Safety Council. The award was presented at the 57th International Safety Awards Gala Dinner on 24 April in London, where CRC-Evans was awarded an International Safety Award with Merit for 2015.

dzԹOur independent judges felt that Gordon had gone the extra mile over and above his normal job role and responsibilities to help care for and protect his colleagues,dzԹ said Neal Stone, acting Chief Executive of the British Safety Council. dzԹThe judges were particularly impressed by GordondzԹs efforts to embrace the companydzԹs health and safety culture, the example he sets to other apprentices by working safely and his encouragement of safe behavior among his colleagues.dzԹ

dzԹWe are so proud of Gordon and his dedication to ensuring that his coworkers and those around him are constantly working in the safest and healthiest environment possible,dzԹ said Adam Wynne Hughes, President of CRC-Evans Offshore. dzԹThe safety of our employees is and always has been our top priority; Gordon consistently goes above and beyond whatdzԹs expected of him to help us achieve that standard, and is extremely deserving of this award and recognition.dzԹ
